On the morning of September 11th, 2001, the United States was brutally attacked by a series of four hijacked airliners, three flown directly into and damaging and/or destroying two of our most famous landmarks: the World Trade Center towers in New York City, and the Pentagon here in Washington, DC. The other flight was abruptly ended by the passengers on the flight, as they overpowered the terrorist team that was attempting to fly the plane into yet another target in the Washington area.

That morning was, coincidentally, the first morning of the new CNET Radio East Coast morning show, and it is eerie to look back and listen to the events that transpired that morning, the details we may have already forgotten, and the national trial by fire we all experienced. The audio below is in MP3 format, and you can listen the actual radio audio as it occurred. There are some gaps in the audio every 15 minutes or so as the logging equipment began recording a new file. The voices you will be hearing are CNET Radio program director and morning show anchor Brian Cooley's and my own, as well as reports from CNN and the CNET staff.
